Micah 3-4 — "He Hides His Face and then He will Reign" | Who Is Like the Lord? (Week 4)

Calvary Life Brooklyn · [Date]

Micah 3 goes after everyone at the top at once — the judges, the prophets, the

priests — and it asks the rulers a question that should have been an insult to

have to ask: is it not for you to know justice? Then the language turns to

butchery. In the middle of it stands one man with no money in the deal, and

what he says about himself is the most important sentence in the chapter.

"But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord,

And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression

And to Israel his sin." — Micah 3:8 (NKJV)

Chapter one: they disdained a holy God. Chapter two: they preyed on each other.

Chapter three: they betrayed a holy calling. We walk the whole chapter — rulers

who hate good, prophets whose message moved with the money, and a city being

built with bloodshed by men who kept saying the Lord was among them and no harm

could come. This is a message about what you love and who pays for what you're

building, and every one of us leads something.
