Romans 5:1-21
"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."— Romans 5:1
JUSTIFIED BY FAITH—NOW WHAT?
Paul has spent four chapters proving that we are justified by faith apart from works. Now he asks: What does this justified life actually look like?
The answer is found in two little words that appear five times in this chapter: "MUCH MORE."
Whatever Adam lost, Christ gives so much more. Whatever sin abounded, grace abounds much more.
IN THIS MESSAGE:
🕊️ Our Standing: Peace with God, access into grace, rejoicing in hope—never changing
🔥 Our State: Tribulation → perseverance → character → hope—ever changing, yet secure
💔 The Love Demonstrated: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us
⚖️ The Great Contrast: Adam vs. Christ—death vs. life, condemnation vs. justification
🌊 Grace Abounding: Where sin increased, grace increased more
👑 Reigning in Life: Not just saved from wrath, but empowered to reign
THE "MUCH MORE" OF CHRIST:
If...Then... Much More...Justified by His bloodSaved from wrathReconciled by His deathSaved by His lifeOne offense brought deathGrace abounded to manyDeath reignedWe reign in lifeSin aboundedGrace abounded much more
THE CHAIN THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING:
Tribulation → Perseverance → Character → Hope
"Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
THE BOTTOM LINE:
You were born into Adam's family by birth.
You can be born into Christ's family by faith.
Whatever you derived from Adam, MUCH MORE awaits you in Christ.
