Romans 10:1-21
"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." — Romans 10:4
FROM SOVEREIGNTY TO RESPONSIBILITY
Romans 9 established that God is sovereign, righteous, just, and faithful.
But that raises a question: If God is sovereign, what is our responsibility? Did God reject Israel, or did Israel reject God?
Paul answers: Israel rejected God. But that doesn't mean we give up on them.
IN THIS MESSAGE:
🔥 Zeal Without Knowledge — Israel had passion, but they missed the target
⚠️ A Warning for Us — Zeal without knowledge means obeying our whims. Knowledge without zeal means forsaking God's will.
✝️ Christ is the End of the Law — Telos means completion, culmination, goal
📖 The Word is Near You — Paul's brilliant use of Deuteronomy 30
💬 Confess and Believe — The simple yet profound call of the gospel
👣 Beautiful Feet — How shall they hear without a preacher?
🌍 The Gospel for ALL — No distinction between Jew and Greek
🙌 Our Responsibility — Go, preach, speak clearly, remove stumbling blocks
THE CHAIN OF SALVATION:
How shall they call? They must believe
How shall they believe? They must hear
How shall they hear? Someone must preach
How shall they preach? They must be sent
"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace!"
ONE-TWO PUNCH – WORD AND WITNESS:
Romans 10 — The Word proclaimed (faith comes by hearing)
Romans 11 — The Witness lived (jealousy comes by seeing)
"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
THE QUESTION:
Have you GONE? Have you PREACHED? Have you spoken in a way they HEARD? Is your own sin a stumbling block to them hearing?
Our responsibility ends there. It is up to them to BELIEVE and CALL.
