Romans 11 - The Sovereignty Revealed - Part 3
Sermon 13: "The Mystery of the Sovereignty of God – God's Sovereignty, Power, Wisdom in Dispensations"
Romans 11:1-36
HAS GOD CAST AWAY HIS PEOPLE?
Romans 9-10 established two truths: God is sovereign in election, and Israel stumbled by seeking righteousness through works rather than faith.
But that raises a question: Is God done with Israel?
Paul answers: ABSOLUTELY NOT.
IN THIS MESSAGE:
🙌 God Didn't Forget Israel – A remnant according to grace remains
🌿 The Olive Tree – Natural branches (Israel) and wild branches (Gentiles)
⚠️ A Warning to Gentiles – Do not boast against the branches. The root supports you, not you the root.
🔍 The Mystery Revealed – Partial blindness has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in
THE OLIVE TREE EXPLAINED:
The Root – The patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob) and God's covenant promises
Natural Branches – Israel
Wild Branches – Gentiles
The Cultivated Olive Tree – The people of God
"Remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you."
THE MYSTERY OF DISPENSATIONS:
The Church Age is a parenthesis between Daniel's 69th and 70th week
Judicial blindness on Israel is partial and temporary
When the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, God will resume His program with Israel
KEY TRUTH:
The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable (v.29). God does not take back His promises. The covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are still in effect.
THE QUESTION:
Are you living in a way that others want what you have? Not envy for material things. Not jealousy for success. But hungry for peace, for joy, for victory over sin, for transparency and humility in struggle.
God can use your life to provoke others to jealousy.
Join us this Sunday as we conclude Romans 9-11 – The Sovereignty of God and the future of Israel.
